Skywing Dragons spend most of their lives flying in the air. They hunt from the air, diving at prey from above, and land only to rest. They are some of the fastest fliers, capable of extremely high speeds. The webbing at the end of the tail acts as a rudder, allowing them to easily change direction during flight.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Emerald Skys has an abnormal green tint on her scales. The reason why she has the green tint was that she was born to in the sky, but her egg fell into a lake filled with algae. The algae entered the eggs shell and was added into her genes. She spends most of her time in the sky, like normal skywings. She eats meat most of the time and has a mate, Ocean Frill, a Dorsal Dragon. The story behind the two is blanketed in myth and rumor, but this is the real uncut story: It happened when Emerald Skys was shot down by human hunters. She should have died, as she was falling into a harbor of rocks, but a Dorsal dragon, Ocean Frill, saved her life. The two have been unseperateble from that moment on.
