Nebula Dragons are nocturnal creatures. With the best eyesight to be found, they are often seen staring into space. Each dragon tends to observe a particular nebula and will eventually change their colors and patterns to match it. As the nebula changes over time, the dragon changes with it. The more intricate the design of the nebula, the better chance an individual has of attracting a mate. It is said that the markings on no two Nebula Dragons will be exactly the same.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. He mimics the "Saturn Nebula". He first saw Aoi Tori as he was gazing at his favorite nebula, and she just so happened to fly directly overhead. The light from the nebula shining through her wings was so beautiful that he called out to her, and flew to catch up with her. She was highly entertained by his excitement, and they agreed to meet the next day. Soon, they were meeting every day, and then they were dating. Then they were courting, and next, Zoutou gathered the courage to ask her to be his mate. She agreed and they've been happily together and in love ever since.
