Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. Its belly is bright red and it is most active in the evening.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

Deathsun was the first victim of an unnamed disease that stops the growth of a hatchling in his cave. Since then, the short-tempered hatchling has been hostile to all but Brilliant Light of the Sky, who had first adopted him when he hatched. Whenever another dragon or hatchling even utters anything about his paused growth, he attacks them. As a result, there would be at least one hatchling or dragon under Snow Dove or Cloudface's care.
