Aria dragons are a brightly-colored and sprightly breed, perhaps most adored for their lyric calls. Their song-like melodies fill the areas they inhabit; their coos resemble those of birds, only more elegant and refined. They have fairly strong magical capabilities, but tend to reserve these strengths for last-minute defense, choosing to live their lives in simple peace. Arias, sticking to the tropics, typically live quite far from human settlements, giving rise to the previously held belief that they had gone extinct.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Hamida was found in Africa by a gentleman native to the country who brought her over to Wales as an egg.  She was adopted by a local Welsh lady who met the African gentleman in a forest and was moved by the tale of how she was rejected by her mother.  Hamida is a soft natured, loving dragon who loves to be around children of all species.  As she grew older she suggested that she offer her services as a nanny for the local community which she has done for the past year.  She is patient and kind hearted but will not tolerate naughtiness and has a natural knack of discipline with youngsters in a firm but fair way.  She recently met a dashing Cave Born Red with whom she has mated but adopted out both her eggs as she is currently dedicated to serving the community.  She does intend, however, to have more children with her mate Casanova and start a family of her own in the near future.  Hamida is a lovely companion and enjoys long talks and spicy fruit cake.
