Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. Like the egg it hatched from, it is a very shiny gold.

And look! It has grown wings! It must be close to maturing.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

Once every few years, Pro would go travel for months just to reach a special place. To the place where he took a chance on a black dragon, where they spoke of love and commitment. Every time, he would breakdown into tears, staring at the faded tombstone of his lover. Pro met the lonely black on his way home. His green eyes and black scales seemed so lifeless, so defeated. Pro couldn't quite place what he felt for him, knowing that sympathy or pity weren't the right words. So, he befriended the dragon. They got close, very close. Pro quickly realized what he felt that first day. Love, at first sight no less. But their relationship was cut short. Some of the others didn't understand their emotions. No, they feared and hated it. So they confronted the two dragons. Pro did his best to protect his love, but he was overpowered. Before losing consciousness from the attack, he watched his beloved black's final breaths. Pro vowed to return to that place, to remember his tragic love.
