Moonstone Dragons are named after the orb on their tails, which resembles the gem of the same name. They are nocturnal and gather energy through the absorption of moonlight with their orbs. They seem to glow with a lunar light and are a very gentle breed, feeding off of plants and the moons’ power.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

In one particular backwater valley, a most particular sort of rose can be found. While they are beautiful, it is not their appearance that is striking, but rather their growing habits; they bloom only at night, raising delicate petals to the moon and folding away again before the sun ever appears. While some botanists would credit this phenomenon entirely to the plants themselves, others are less certain; they can't help but notice the quiet moonstone dragon who constantly roams the fields in which they flower, tending busily to them as the night rolls on.
