Black Dragons are warriors. They are strong and capable in battles of force, but also ample magic users, capable of devastating opponents with their spells. Their bright eyes give them excellent night vision, which is why they generally hunt during the night.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Deathstare's eyes seem to burn into the soul of whoever looks at them.  He is even able to hunt prey merely by paralyzing them with his gaze, then easily killing them.  His eyes have the same effect on dragons, in fact, Deathstare intentionally tries to scare dragons as much as possible just by looking at them. The only one who isn't the least bit creeped out by his eyes is Blackclaw, who ends up seeing undying love instead.

Noloch is probably the most important distinction in all of the Nightgaze clan.  It belongs exclusively to black dragons, who form the bulk of the Nightgaze army.  Powerful both in terms of magic and in terms of fighting, dragons of Noloch are feared throughout the land.
