Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. It has a large, shield-like object at the end of its tail that it uses for protection.

And look! It has grown wings! It must be close to maturing.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

Hufayus was born unlike other flying dragons; her wings were hatched double-jointed, which means they can go any direction her thick skin will allow them. She's saved herself many times by bending her wings in front of her, not to mention her adventurous friend, Garsperen, the frozen red hatchling. They're always playing this make-believe game where they travel a magical land called 'Rawr', trying to defeat an evil sorcerer. This leads to more needed places to explore, some of them dangerous. Hufayus is a docile hatchling, but gets aggressive when needed. If something were to attack her, her accurate headbutt and strong wings could easily dispatch them, unless they are seriously powerful. Hufayus is one of the seven founders of her clan, and acts mostly as a protector.
