Feisty and energetic, Whiptail Dragons pride themselves on their speed and agility. It is not unusual to see several whiptails racing each other. Though fragile, they can easily evade attacks with their superior speed, and often use their long tails as a weapon, giving rise to their name.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Flitterstripe is hyper, even for a Whiptail dragon and tends to be easily distracted. She enjoys watching Dolphinheart in the water, Lilyfeather singing and Bugstripe's skill at catching bugs. She took swimming, singing, and hunting lessons from the three, and she taught them how to be faster and more evasive. She was named after her speed, similar to a dragonfly's wing beat and the stripes covering her body. She is eager to do everything, even collecting medicine, which takes patience.
