And look! It has grown wings! It must be close to maturing.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

CourageousGuardian is a pretty typical Guardian Dragon hatchling. He is the perfect mix of his serious mother FormidableGuardian, and his brave father BoldGuardian. He often assists his mother on her guard duty, where he tries to scan the countryside looking for threats. So far, he's only spotted one thing that turned out to be dangerous: a group of dangerous Harpies. His father came to help his mother defeat those bird-like monsters, and none have been sited since then.
