Feisty and energetic, Whiptail Dragons pride themselves on their speed and agility. It is not unusual to see several whiptails racing each other. Though fragile, they can easily evade attacks with their superior speed, and often use their long tails as a weapon, giving rise to their name.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Veritas is a very happy dragon, not to mention fast, and energetic as well, even among whiptails. Her favorite thing to do in her spare time is to practice running and flying and especially combining the two.  She is also secretly jealous of her friend Ligato, whom appears to be falling in love with a young white dragon named Feros.  While she likes to tease them it is to hide her own jealousy.  She has for a long time hung out with the several gray dragons that live at the cave and although she doesn't fully see it Orion, the owner of the cave and dragons, can clearly see that her and Animos, one of the male grays, are slowly falling in love themselves.  They always spend time together doing everything from teasing Feros and Ligato to flying together, which they are both extremely fast at.  Orion is a good friend of Tonitrui, Animos's brother and they agree that Animos and Veritas don't know it, but they are more like the ones they make fun of than they know.
