Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. It occasionally shoots small puffs of smoke from its nose, like it’s trying to breathe fire.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

The Heat of Fire's Flame is was one of the minions held captive at The School for Abandoned Hatchlings. He was freed by Maka, Soul, and Black Star on their first expedition to destroy the School for good. Though their mission was somewhat of a failure, they still managed to free a large amount of hatchlings. The Heat of Fire's Flame had solemnly begged to join them, and Maka couldn't say no. He  dreams of someday becoming the strongest dragon of all time, but that is a long way away.
