Black Dragons are warriors. They are strong and capable in battles of force, but also ample magic users, capable of devastating opponents with their spells. Their bright eyes give them excellent night vision, which is why they generally hunt during the night.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Shiarian comes from a diverse line of dragons. His mother, a black dragon, didn't care too much for him. His father, a silver dragon, had too much of a free spirit to raise him as an egg. Abandoned as a hatchling, he found Kiroe, and went into her family with a playmate, Aranore. The two were the best of friends until a rivalry broke out on their first mating season. They fought over a mysterious silver dragon, who seemed to be amused as they blasted several magic attacks at each other. Due to this, Shiarian was given his name 'foolish warrior'. He often tries to prove his name wrong, but it will forever be engraved by a scar above his left eye. He spends most of his time, flying and searching for the silver dragon who caused so much trouble for him, yet he still thinks of her mesmerizing beauty and is willing to fight any dragon for her......as he once did his best friend.
