Lumina Dragons received their names from their highly reflective scales, which—at times—seem to glow. They are vain, always strutting about and preening incessantly; if one of their scales has so much as a scratch or a defect, they’ll remove it. Luckily, their scales grow back quickly, and each new growth is more beautiful than the last. These narcissistic dragons live in small groups and prefer to surround themselves with beauty. The females guard their territory and eggs while the males search for vegetation to eat.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Minuial Rubygaze is a rather odd example of his species. He has a firm belief that his clan will fall into a state of civil war after their leader's future retirement. Because of this, as stated by him, the dragons of the clan will become scattered and barbaric. While most of his clanmates find no truth to this at all, Minuial has acquired a small band of followers, all of whom believe that the clan must be prepared for anything, wether it be civil war or not. With his followers, Minuial has formed 'Operation Last Hope' which focuses on maximum safety for the clan's future generations. Of course, Minuial is the leader of that group, and along with his deputy, Mardil, he runs the group to the best of his abilities.
