Soulguide Dragons are said to be guides to the souls of the lost. Rather than having a breath weapon, their bodies contain an extra circulation system with a mana-infused, glowing fluid. Combined with thin panels of near-translucent skin, they have an almost lantern-like appearance when using it. They are most often seen in fall, when the souls of Valkemare stir most. Mostly drawn to places where wanderers tend to lose their way, they can be spotted in all kinds of environments during this time of year. Soulguide Dragons have been sighted in dense forests, winding cave systems or over stormy seas. Drawn by their light, lost souls follow them to the nearest thinning of the veil, where they are eased gently onto the next world.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.
