Ice Dragons are fierce predators who hunt using their extremely cold breath. The breath of an ice dragon can freeze its prey solid in seconds. The body of an ice dragon is so cold that icicles will form along its skin no matter the outside temperature.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Kuru is the leader of the Trio dragons of his clan. He was not born leader, nor was he elected by common vote during the early years of the Trio in Kaoru's Cave; back then, it was Pax the Magma who ruled. No, Kuru earned his position, and he certainly worked hard to earn it. Kuru led the Trio members on their quest to learn to summon and he led them through the toughest dangers along the way. He saved Pax's life and saved a small medieval town from a flock of furious Green Dragons. However, the most incredible thing he did was instigate the first successful summon for a Guardian of Nature. Although the result of this summon was a very solitary, vengeful and territorial Guardian of Nature, Kuru is still considered famous for this. He is intelligent and more work-driven than social-driven, but he does enjoy working in groups.
