Sunset Dragons are closely related to sunrise dragons. However, their behaviors differ greatly. Sunset Dragons generally live alone or in small packs. They are more active in the evening, hunting and performing all of their daily tasks as the sun sets.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Midnight is a very quiet dragon, but will speak up when he can. He was a member of the Hurakin pack, a pack of Sunset Dragons who were later killed by another pack. Midnight is the last one of the Hurakins. He managed to escape by joining the Uncita clan so that the other pack would mistake him as a clan dragon. His job in clan wars is to spy on the attacking clan, so he knows when and where the attack will be. Midnight's egg was stolen by Firenight, a member of the Ta'mule pack. Firenight gave Midnight to the Hurakin pack because of the close relationship between the two packs.
