Brute Dragons are among the larger dragon breeds. They prefer to live in solitude or small groups, nesting in high, mountainous regions. The only time they openly seek the company of others is during the mating season, when males will fight for the attention of females. The thunderous crash of Brute Dragons butting horns against each other in competition for mates can be heard nearly a mile away.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Due to Zirnava being the first Brute Dragon the cave received, they didn't know how to raise her. She was a pushy hatchling, very forceful and persistent. The females of the cave, and even some of the males, encouraged this behavior, completely oblivious to the breed's character. They valued her assertiveness, though soon regretted their teachings to the young Brute.

Zirnava has grown into a very, well, brutish dragon. She is surly and loud, and undoubtedly the Brute Dragons' leader. Once her pack hatched, she immediately targeted them, forcing them into submission under her direction. She rivals the males in size and strength, having been pampered extensively throughout her youth.

If Zirnava wants something, she gets it. The other dragons in the cave would call her spoiled, but they're too afraid that she would hear and punish them. Her fury is as world renowned as the Cavern Lurkers' mysteriousness is. Even her subordinates refuse to challenge her, she's just that brutal.
