As the nocturnal relative to Sunbeam Drakes, Moonglow Drakes are a secretive breed most active under the light of the moons and stars. They are wary of others, but are known to have incredible loyalty should their trust be won. Catching sight of Moonglow Drakes as they dance amid the moonlight is seen as a favorable omen by those they live near, and tamed individuals are common. They are slightly smaller than their cousins, averaging around the size of a cat.
Though it may appear at first that dragons and drakes have much in common, the two are completely separate species. Drakes are smaller and less intelligent than their cousin species, though both dragons and drakes sit comfortably near the top of the food chain. They are always found bearing antlers and leathery wings. Drakes share many of the same habitats that dragons do, and typically hunt in packs.
User Description
Nightling Lightning (say that 5 times fast!) is not a real nightling (creature of the night), but she is rather crepuscular (dawn and dusk). She was injured when first learning to fly as she landed in a rosebush with magic thorns. Badly impairing her vision, She saw nearsightedly during the night and "farsightedly" during the day. However, during the times of dawn and dusk, her eyes were sharper than most Night Glories' at night. She loved the sunrises ans sunsets that flashed streaks of purple and pink across the horizon. She would flit to and fro, as fast as lightning (hence the name). Her wings reflected the half-sun half-moon lights that shone upon them. But on the 31st of every month that had a full moon, at solar noon (no rhyme intended), she had to hide where no sunlight could touch her, or else she would burn up into ashes. Beware the magic rosebush.
