Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Ever since Lars Lion came to SL's cave, she has been crowded, admired, and cheered upon, but not because she is the first Tinsel. Her time in the cave has allowed her to build up her reputation. Lars is seen as the protector, guardian, hero.

When Lars was a hatchling, she was haunted by a dark beast she dubbed The Vampire. He visited her every night. She believed he was a vampire, and constantly cried out to her foster parents, Jaegar and Nemesis, that The Vampire has come. But they never believed her, and still the mysterious nightmare dragon came to her every night. Little did she know that this dragon was Luperca, the vengeful brother of Virtus.

As Lars Lion grew, her attitude grew with her. She became feisty and energetic, adventurous and just. Pretty soon, Lars went out looking for her foe, and discovered his true persona. A war broke out, in which good fought evil. In the end, Lars finished it all by killing Luperca.

Now, Lars protects her friends with her life, fearsome, heroic.
