Serrati Wyverns are a fierce breed of dragon typically found in volcanic areas or in desert scrubland. With their keen vision, these fearsome predators can pick out well-camouflauged prey from the slightest movement. They are named for the double rows of serrated teeth that line their beaks, which allow these wyverns to maintain an unbreakable grip on prey while they tear into their target with deadly hooked claws. Though these dragons are combative with nearly everything, they are surprisingly well-mannered when raising their offspring in communal nests. Males, however, tend to be chased off as soon as eggs are laid.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

At one point in time, a greedy dragon hunter heard legends of Element Mountain, a towering summit located in the heart of Ficus Bough's jungle, and how it was home to some of the world's most powerful dragons. Desiring to be the one to capture the fabled dragons who lived inside the mountain in order to exploit their combined strength and become a powerful, invincible lord, he somehow managed to infiltrate the mountain and came very close to capturing the Dragon Guardians. It was only the combined strength of every single dragon who lived in the jungle under the Dragon Guardians' protection that put an end to the scheming human's plan. After that day, it was decided that the Dragon Guardians needed a vassal who would help drive away any intruders from Elemental Mountain. After a long search, they finally found an ideal candidate in Deinony, who was particularly violent and territorial, even for a Seragamma Wyvern. In no time at all, Deiony took up her position with savage fierceness.
