Antarean Dragons are peaceful creatures shrouded in mystery. They are primarily found in the desert where they get most of their energy from sunbathing. Their most notable traits are their highly reflective manes and the mysterious light emitted by their scales which fades from bright, nearly blinding yellow-white into dim red as the dragons get older. Legend claims that they are otherworldly beings that came to this world when a meteor struck.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Known as the Iron Angel, Aegenferrus is the custodian of hatchlings and eggs. He is a gentle beast at heart and is never far away from the young ones, often stopping in flight to nudge one on. At dawn he rises to find food and returns the same time every day, routinely feeding the smallest first, then bringing second helpings for the stronger infants. And after a long, hard day of play, his downy mane becomes a cozy bed for dragons that are growing up too fast...
