Sunrise Dragons are closely related to sunset dragons. However, their behaviors differ greatly. Sunrise Dragons prefer to live in large groups and enjoy basking in the early morning sun. They are usually most active in the morning, and go to sleep in the early evening.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Lirgo, being the oldest dragon in his cave, is looked upon as both a leader and a friend among his cave mates. Thus, they often turn to him for help. Similar to most other Sunrise Dragons, Lirgo spends much of the morning lying atop a hill, soaking up the sunlight. He does not mind the hatchlings playing and rolling around, and sometimes even on, him. The shyer hatchlings would usually sit away from him, in fear of annoying their leader. Gradually, however, Lirgo's calm temperament wins their trust and they head on over to join him and their fellow playmates.

In his free time, Lirgo works on the family trees of all the dragons in his cave, which can be seen across the cave wall to the right side of the entrance. Up till now, Lirgo has yet to figure out why some of the dragons in the family trees have nearly unpronounceable names, which include a mixture of numbers and letters.
