And look! It has grown wings! It must be close to maturing.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

Tamayeh wishes to join her guardian clan's protection army. Most of the guardians in the land have joined it, building up a large army to defend all the dragons in the kingdom. Several times has Tamayeh attempted to join the army, but she was rejected...Always because she was too young. "That's not fair!" she would complain, "I'm frozen! I'll never mature!" Yet she still was rejected. She fought and warned the guard manager that someday she'll get into the army, only to be leave after she was threatened to be locked away. Since then, Tamayeh has been more careful, but her desperate wishes to join the defense group have not at all subsided.
