Holiday dragons are a very mysterious breed. They are only seen during winter, and even then it is hard to catch a glimpse of one. They are responsible for the general cheer that spreads during the holidays. In essence, they are the “Spirits of Winter.”

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

There are Christmas dragons who spend all year spreading the cheer and joy of their patron holiday -- good, generous souls who go out of their way to make others happy and never fail to irritate Falith. Despite her constant grumbling she doesn't mind Christmas, but when one lives with dragons who act as if every day is Christmas, not to mention having wings that look like a Christmas display in a toy shop, the magic of the holiday wears thin. She finds it hard to be festive even on Christmas itself; all of the insanity of the frantic and often unorganized preparations the other Christmas dragons make gives her a headache. She much prefers Halloween. The preparations are just as chaotic, but dressing in terrifying costumes and scaring friends and clanmates is only fun one day each year.
