Sunset Dragons are closely related to sunrise dragons. However, their behaviors differ greatly. Sunset Dragons generally live alone or in small packs. They are more active in the evening, hunting and performing all of their daily tasks as the sun sets.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Allegreto is Soulskimmer's (her owner) most prized dragon—her first dragon. She was given to Soulskimmers by her parents when she was little and as a result Allegreto feels most protective of her. As a sunset dragon, she prefers to spend most of her time alone; away from all the other dragons living on Soulskimmer's property. Nevertheless she will answer to Soulskimmer's call. Allegreto's favorite food seems to be rats and owls as they are the only things nocturnal around soulskimmer's property. She hates: Magnoli, Rembrandts and Frinyer for injuring soulskimmers. Yet oddly enough, she chooses Frinyer as her mate when she discovers that they enjoy the same things—hunting at night. As one of soulskimmer's more trusted dragons, she is often seen running errands for soulskimmers, whether its checking up on the dragons the villagers take care of or mailing letters to her friends and family. Basically she's soulskimmer's house, acting as her: bed, alarm clock, transportation, etc.
