White Dragons are pacifists and specialize in extremely strong healing magic. The only limit of this magic is that it can’t bring back the dead. They only eat plants and never kill living things.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Maula was born to a tribe where females were considered second-rate healing assistants at best while males were the truly capable ones. In fact, Maula's first mate had been an accomplished healer and quite famous even beyond her old clan. No one but she and he ever knew that most of his famous accomplishments should have been attributed to her or that she taught him almost everything he knew.

After his death, Maula got fed up by her old colleagues' arrogant dismissal of her talents and knowledge and left to join a more open-minded clan. Among the healers of Herk's clan she has finally found the place she deserves and acts as a motherly teacher to all younger dragons.
