Almerald Dragons are an unusual species. They have gem-like protrusions along their spine that brighten and darken depending on their mood. In addition, their body temperature grows warmer during periods of excitement, and cooler during darker moods such as anger or depression; as such, it is fairly easy to read an Almerald’s emotions. Their mood can change quickly at times, going from calm to angry in a matter of seconds. If their anger becomes bad enough they can become a frightening opponent. Adults are not normally high in energy, so they hunt infrequently and prefer to lazily consume large quantities of fruits and nuts.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

User Description

There was once a dethroned king who traded another kingdom's prized green jewel for a lizard that was supposedly a fierce and formidable dragon. He called the lizard Tad Cooper. He watched and waited for days for the dragon to grow so that he might reclaim his kingdom that had been stolen by his wife. But the lizard remained a lizard. Somewhere in a mountainous cave, the green jewel appeared—spirited away, it seemed—and was found by a dragon trainer whilst hiking who instantly recognized it to be an egg. She took it in and raised it, naming him Tad' Cooper in honor of the legend of the king.

Tad' Cooper now rests happily in his Scrollbearer's breeding grounds in Galsreim. He has many friends and mates frequently with other Almeralds and Witchlights. So far, no king with a lizard nor his wife nor the kingdom who once owned the egg has come looking for him. He is happy and content and his Scrollbearer can occasionally forget that someone might come claiming the dragon.
