Shimmer-scale Dragons are a very beautiful breed with small—but highly reflective—scales that shimmer and shine as the dragon moves through water. They don’t have fins or webbed feet, but their long, eel-like bodies allow them to swim quite fast. They were once rumored to carry large pearls in their claws—causing many to seek them out in search of this fabulous treasure. In reality, the “pearl” is of greater value to the dragon, for the fabled treasure is actually an egg carried by a migrating female.
Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.
User Description
At first glance, Prince Kixi's pedigree looks quite impressive.... a descendant of the great shimmerscale Prince, Pinoy, himself. Kixi, himself, is one to mind his own business and does not brag much about his illustrious ancestors as many of his peers do. A closer hearing of the family history, however, quickly reveals that this quiet prince's situation is not nearly so enviable as it first appears. Though he came as an egg to the clan and was raised by them, rumors of scandal and ignominy, of family curses laid upon star-crossed lovers... all very dramatic, to be sure... swirl and they seem to stalk his bloodline wherever it goes. SOME even say that his many times great grandfather STILL has not forgiven whatever deed it was that offended him all that time ago. Among the clan of the JavaTiger, Prince Kixi has gained acceptance, and even a measure of respect... though, odd to say, to this day this handsome prince has taken no mate, perhaps out of fear of passing on the family curse.
