Electric Dragons wield electricity with great prowess. Bright sparks race across these dragons’ bodies in a dazzling dance of light, complemented by the blindingly radiant sparks on their tails. Using their bellies and manes as stores for this electrical energy, Electric Dragons wield crackling magic, stunning and electrocuting their prey with a whip of their tail. During mating season it is typically those with the most brilliant sparks—an indicator of strength and hunting ability—that are drawn to each other.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Lythrblak of Thunder Storms' egg was found by the human known as Flight after the Murdering of Dragons in the Mountains of Elgar. Being the first dragon hatchling the human had encountered, Flight became extremely fond of the creature. In turn Lythrblak of Thunder Storms became like a protective lapdog to her human companion and to this day looks out for the girl. Lythrblak of Thunder Storms spends most of her time perching on a rock at the entrance of her cave, watching her human and other creatures down below the mountain where her cave is located. After Flight befriended the human girl Ember Nuria, who cares for dragons in the tallest Mountain of Elgar, Lythrblak befriended one of Ember's dragon companions, the young Moonstone dragon, Koray Nuria. The two, along with Koray's younger brother, the Sunstone dragon Samson Nuria, spend much their free time having light competitions, with Koray and Samson's glowing light and Lythrblak's beautiful flashes of lightning, her pride and joy.
