Gold dragons are the ones most often killed by humans, who consider their scales to be extremely valuable. These golden scales grant them a high level of protection, similar to armor, and they use this to their advantage in battle.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Veriseth likes people, and is not ashamed to admit it.  She knows she puts herself in danger every time she interacts with humans, but she still won't stop.  She just adores the little monkeys, and likes to be around them.  She even has a favorite person that she will (very occasionally!) let ride on her back.  Thankfully, Veri is a good judge of human character, so she doesn't show herself to just any idiot walking along.  She would like to, but she knows she can't, lest they try to kill her for her golden scales.  So, she spends time with people, but judges them relentlessly.  If she likes one, she'll give them a display they will NEVER forget. If she doesn't, they will not live to tell her tale.
