Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

Gzeii is somewhat gloomy and mopey, but there are always dragons willing to entertain it and bring it food so that it is at least fed and visually stimulated. Its eyes glow very brightly comes nighttime, and in a small corner of the cave, the effect is both beautiful and eerie. Because it is eternally young, it can't control the weather as masterfully as the adults, but it can create small clouds that hover several feet from the ground.
