Black Dragons are warriors. They are strong and capable in battles of force, but also ample magic users, capable of devastating opponents with their spells. Their bright eyes give them excellent night vision, which is why they generally hunt during the night.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Darf is one of the most feared members of the clan's defense forces. She is not especially bulky or strong, but almost none of the others is as swift and silent and her. Her claws are as sharp as her eyes. She melts into the shadows almost as well as one of her dark brethren. And she has absolutely no qualms about killing if she deems it necessary.

She is well integrated into the defense forces but she really is a sociopath, not caring much for others' opinions or the clan's accepted ethical norms. Darf is under constant surveillance by at least one of Fury's spies to make sure she doesn't overstep any bounds. She is well aware of this but doesn't care all that much. If necessary she can easily slip away after all.
