Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. It has a pink cloud that follows it everywhere. You seem to be having more difficulty concentrating since it arrived.

And look! It has grown wings! It must be close to maturing.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

Veneulor's name has a dark and sinister meaning... it is derived from the Latin word for poison, and the Latin word for kiss. Veneulor, however, is not poisonous, at least, in that respect. Veneulor was so named for when he floats over the heads of his cave mates, he fills their minds with daydreams. But even there is not the true root of his name. Veneulor is known to hold grudges. And when one dragon did something that Veneulor did not like, they had poisonous nightmares for several weeks.

After the dragon apologized and begged to be freed, Veneulor then "kissed" this dragon, and rid him of the dark visions afterwards.

Never has any dragon crossed this hatchling's path again.
