Gold dragons are the ones most often killed by humans, who consider their scales to be extremely valuable. These golden scales grant them a high level of protection, similar to armor, and they use this to their advantage in battle.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

When the wild-born Golden siblings named Eminence and Resplendence arrived at the Breedery, they claimed the already-ancient dragoncity as if it were their birthright. While some welcomed them, and Lurhstaap himself seemed more amused than anything else by their pretentions, not everyone was so friendly to their claims of royalty. So when Ecstasy arrived, it was like a bomb went off. While Eminence and Resplendence just assume she will support them, the Desipis clans hope to manipulate her and set her up as a rival to them.

Ecstasy is a young dragon compared to the rest, but she's no fool. Recognizing the impact her arrival had on the city's political dynamics, Ecstasy plays her cards close to her chest. She isn't interested in rulership, and doesn't agree that Golds should rule anyway—but she doesn't want to be anyone's pawn, either, and knows she can't just ignore them all. If only. Quiet and solitary, she wants, more than anything, to just be left alone to enjoy her life.
