Shadow Walkers are a strange breed that possess the ability to slip between the planes of reality, becoming immaterial. This allows them to hide in the shadows, either hunting from the concealment of near invisibility or evading enemies. Though they become corporeal to mate or to eat, they spend most of the rest of their lives walking in the shadows. Shadow Walkers are wary creatures, though on dark autumn evenings when the leaves fall to swirl in the chill, rain damp air, they may be seen drifting out from the shadows.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Bael is a devil of the highest regard. She's mean, nasty, incredibly sarcastic, and thrills in playing tricks on mortals. She is highly resentful of mortals, having seen them perform terrible acts before her eyes. So, to spite them, she plays tricks and vicious mischeif upon them every chance she gets. Her most common scheme is to steal all her victim's things and store them in the soular plane. Only rarely will she be appeased enough to give them back and unharmed no less. Despite the vicious pettiness, Bael has a monotone voice and a wit so dry, it puts the desert to shame! She'll take vicious jabs at others, often getting at their most vulnerable weak points just to see them react. She is not outright violent, however. Bael exclusively tortures her victims through tricks and psychological torment. She is not the fighting type. That said, she will do anything to protect her meek Iridichi brother, Valefore, even if she has to lash out a claw or two.
