Nocturne Dragons are a strange breed. Whenever light strikes their bodies, they are frozen in whatever position they were in. This leaves them vulnerable and they rely on camouflage to keep themselves safe. They are often mistaken for statues when in this frozen state, but Nocturne dragons do not actually turn into stone. Rather, they merely idle until the sun goes down. At night, these dragons come to life, proving themselves to be powerful fliers, although little else is known about their true behavior.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Taf is not nearly as scary as she looks. She was raised to be gentle and kind to all living things, except for prey. Oddly enough, Taf keeps a pet capuchin monkey named Arim. He rarely leaves her side, and is often seen either sitting on her head between her horns, or riding in the dent between her shoulder blades. Taf was sent to the Valley as a hatchling. Her parents felt that she would be a better dragon if she had her own trade, so they sent her to live with Valley Clan to apprentice for the great and talented Belit-ili. At first, Taf was frightened, but, after a time, the Clan and the Valley grew on her. She is good friends with Emnaress, Leriah, Leonorix, and Vlain. She has great respect for her Mistress and rarely complains when she is loaded with chores. Taf is a diligent worker and will one day be a great Stone-Sculptor.
