Green Dragons are also sometimes called “earth” dragons. They usually live deep within caves, and have power over the earth. They are capable of launching boulders at high speeds, and can cause earthquakes by slamming down onto the ground.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Ekar means Oaken in Christopher Paolini's ancient language of the elves from his inheritance Cycle, a name which could describe his steadfastness, his strength or any number of other things. He is the most respected of the Clan, very wise and one of the elders. He holds the Beta position in the council and is a good rock for Wyrdfell to fall back on.

He is Wyrdfell's mate, having produced two surviving eggs who have flown the nest to elsewhere, more of a blow to him than his more headstrong mate who cared little for hatchlings. He is close to very few, preferring to distance himself from others barring Wyrdfell though he maintains what could be called a "close acquaintance" to Folkvir for whom he likes for his straight-forwardness and bravery. All dragons go to him for mature advice but would prefer Neunen if they wish a willing ear to cry to.
