Sophrosyne Dragons are a rare sight, typically making themselves known only to protect and heal the vulnerable. A visit from one serves as a reminder that kindness prevails, and that there’s always hope for positive change. While it is known that they possess the power to reverse botched spells, some claim they can even cure methodically-cast curses. This has never been formally documented, but these dragons have been seen arriving in the aftermath of violence, and the scars of tragedy seem to heal faster in their wake. The feathers of a Sophrosyne have thus become a symbol of perseverance and light in the face of darkness.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. Despite Zylaena's wisdom and normally calm demeanour, she has one fatal flaw in that she is excessively vain. While other Soulpeace Dragons are socialising together, Zylaena often wanders off on her lonesome in order to preen herself. The perfect sky blue shade of her scales is a source of great pride for her, and she undertakes a variety of monotonous tasks each day in order to keep them gleaming. The only time Zylaena's calm mood shifts is when her beauty routine is interrupted.
