Black Dragons are warriors. They are strong and capable in battles of force, but also ample magic users, capable of devastating opponents with their spells. Their bright eyes give them excellent night vision, which is why they generally hunt during the night.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Vergible Woods is an aptly named dragon. His first name stems from the roots verg-, meaning at the edge, and -ible, able. Vergible is a guardian of the woods he calls home, though he resides on their outskirts, nearer to the humans that live nearby. His volatile temperament and power keeps them in check, just as their weapons and love of their small town keeps him in check. They do not enter his woods because they know that the consequences would be grave, and likewise, he does not enter their town as long as they respect his wishes. He loves all forms of the plant life that flourish in his sacred grove, and thus will have no mercy toward those who would defile it.
