And look! It’s grown a forked spade at the end of its tail and long, tufted whiskers! It must be close to maturing.
Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.
Tunder is one of the three members of a young gemshard troupe best known for both coloring contrarily to their parents and driving everyone around them crazy. This is in sharp contrast to the heroic and awesome deeds the group wants to become legendary for, but no matter; that's sure to change in time.
While Tunder is the youngest of the group (by a scanty few days), she's also the most fiery, leading the charge on most endeavors, picking fights, and just generally being loud and half psychotic. The most frequent conflicts are between herself and the more down to earth Bizaoz, the two getting in fights that involve much shouting and paw-slapping about who's the real leader here--all while remaining quite oblivious to the fact that it's the third member, Liwif, who really holds the strings!
