Striped Dragons come in a dazzling array of colors complemented by an intricate pattern of stripes. These bright colors and patterns help attract their favorite food, insects. Because their prey is so tiny, striped dragons must spend a large portion of their day eating. The color of the offspring is usually determined by the dragon’s mate.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. On the surface, Lady Ums is a superficial and silly creature who seems to have no room in her brain for anything but fashion and parties. She likes for things to be pretty and is forever rearranging the cave that she shares with her mate, Prince Pol. He is the undisputed leader of the vast Rex Brood, but what very few dragons realize is that while the Prince may rule the brood, Lady Ums rules him. It was her influence that caused Rex Brood to make a trade agreement with the nearby Credo Lair; without her, Prince Pol would have raided his old friend's home and taken all of their valuables. As she argued at the time, it's more profitable to let the lair thrive and become a sustainable resource for their brood. Lady Ums has a soft spot in her heart for Pygmy dragons, and has amassed quite a collection of the miniatures since coming to live with Prince Pol. She trains them to deliver messages and do a variety of tricks, which can entertain her guests for hours at the parties she throws.
