Albino Dragons are so named because their translucent, scale-less skin lacks all pigment. Instead, to help protect their bodies from the sun, they are coated in an oily secretion that blocks the sun’s harmful rays. The call of an albino dragon is similar to a barn owl--a shriek instead of a roar.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Rennet is something of a sorcerer, though he does not have the sheer magical firepower of a black or Magus dragon. His magic relates to life and light, and his favorite trick is to bring small items to life temporarily, making them dance about or perform silent plays. Recently, he's moved beyond temporary animation, and has learned to temporarily give life to objects.

As soon as he figured it out, he stole Cream's favorite mozzarella cheese, since it was the only object around large enough to do what he wanted, and animation of the resident Cheese dragons proceeded from there. Rennet is absurdly proud of himself for this accomplishment, and doesn't seem to notice Cream's irritation at her favorite treat being turned into new friends.
