Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

GoldenRoseQuartz is a very popular Pink Dragon hatchling and a thrill-seeker. He's a daredevil, and loves nothing more than showing off. He is friends will all of the hatchlings and many of the adults of his cave, and well known by hatchlings in caves nearby. He never turns down a challenge, but he doesn't always succeed. He usually spends about a quarter of his years in the care of the White Dragons of his cave, being healed by HonestDiamond.
