Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. Its eyes glow brightly at night, and it enjoys attacking insects and small animals.

And look! It has grown wings! It must be close to maturing.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

So afraid of aging, Shadow begged her clan to freeze her, and after much consideration, they did. She is now living a much more relaxed life. Moon's Midnight Shadow spends her time with the lovable oaf, Blood Venom, and the timid dragon, Wild Lightning Storm. She sits between the fine line that is adult and hatchling, but she is treated as a mature dragon, hunting alongside the other dragons, her mind still growing even as her body does not. Shadow is a very friendly dragon, being loving to the clan's human, Puresight. She knows that she can never have a mate or have a rank in the clan, but does not mind, she is happy being between groups with Blood Venom and Wild Lightning Storm.
