Royal Blue dragons are a nocturnal breed who prefer to live high in the mountains near slow-moving water that reflects the night sky. Although quite capable of defending themselves, they are peaceful by nature and will avoid a fight whenever possible.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. Many of his breed have a passion for watching the stars' reflections, but to Ariolus, it is a responsibility. He sees things in the stars that are too bright for mortal eyes to bear. Instead, he derives more doubtful predictions from the celestial reflections. The seer lives on a stone pier in a montane lake in Dusk Divide Keep territory, transfixed by the omens. He lives off of the blasphemous fish that swim through his aqueous mirror, and sleeps on the warm rock in the day.
