Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. This hatchling seems to be filled with a fell, inner flame.

And look! Its wings have grown, and it’s become bigger, more aggressive, and much hotter.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

The first child to Burningblue the Dangerous and the third of her father Ythe the Handsome caused Flametounge the Dangerous to be born with a fearsome beauty, which was her downfall. As soon as she could she would challenge the hatchlings to fights and spars which she won effortlessly, and she teased other female hatchlings and intimidated them. When she ran out of hatchlings she flew off to find other opponents. Her fight with a wolf pack caused her body to be covered in scars, marring her beauty and preventing her from growing up. She is still aggressive and has not learned any humility from her defeat.
