Spotted Greenwings are relatively small nocturnal dragons. Easily recognizable by the fleshy appendages growing off of their head and rump, they are most commonly seen in forests at night, leaping and soaring from tree to tree. While generally social, spotted greenwings are very quiet and rarely make any sort of vocalization. Their bodies are unusually warm to the touch, though they are unable to breathe fire. Greenwings are voracious feeders and will consume nearly any living thing that they can fit in their mouths.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

One of the first four eggs hatched by an unknown benefactor, Tishina's nocturnal nature left her watching over her adopted siblings as they slept, and she quickly became the mother of the group. As hatchlings, Tishina roused to find gifts and snacks waiting for her from her siblings. As they grew to adulthood, she woke to the others happily waiting up so they could all share stories and ask for her advice.

Tishina grew especially close to Malenkaya, admiring his creativity and vivid imagination. Tishina welcomed his company as he stayed up all night, though she worried over his increasingly erratic behavior. By the time Tishina laid their egg, Malenkaya's sanity had already slipped from his grasp. With all Tishina's time devoted to incubating her egg, Mat Zemli and Slava looked after him in her stead. The three of them agreed: Malenkaya's mind was lost to them all, but they were still a family and would all care for each other—and the three females would raise her hatchling together.
