Albino Dragons are so named because their translucent, scale-less skin lacks all pigment. Instead, to help protect their bodies from the sun, they are coated in an oily secretion that blocks the sun’s harmful rays. The call of an albino dragon is similar to a barn owl--a shriek instead of a roar.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

He is the oldest and grandest of the Kriss tribe of abandoned dragons. He is the leader, a guru to all dragons in the tribe as well as a protector, a father. Although he possess no special appearance nor the beauty of a rare dragon, for he is an albino that shows all, even what he thinks, with the grandness and power beyond all dragons in the tribe, and most of all, honesty and sincerity for everyone in the tribe, he is respected by all.

Claranc faces a certain sadness over the loss of his first born child (the first egg to be born in the tribe), which he had with Airee. Thinking about the lost first-born, Claranc plays the role of father to all eggs and hatchlings that are weak and feeble.
