Ultraviolet Dragons are a heat-loving breed that are most commonly found in hot, arid environments. These hardy dragons are omnivorous and will eat both plant and animal matter, even species with thorny physical defenses such as cacti. They are generally peaceful and often quite friendly, but males will become aggressive and cantankerous during the breeding season. Intense fights take place over females, sometimes resulting in injury for both combatants.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Knight of the Desert Mountains is a ultraviolet dragon. He is not very pleasant, often scaring hatchlings with his barking voice and loud tones. Many dragons tend to stay away from him and his strange and rude behavior, and he lives alone in the western deserts of his clan's territory. However, he is an expert survivalist, and any dragon wishing to learn how to live in the most desolate, hopeless conditions would have to get the skills from him. Unfortunately, many can be seen marching off in tears after Knight of the Desert Mountains reprimands them again and again. But in his mind, he is only trying to help the 'young ones', and secretly, he wishes for a companion to live life with.
